HOUSES

if you have a good viper memory, you will have remembered we blogged on the band HOUSES while we were at CMJ …as fate would have it, we get to play with them half a year later on the other side of the country …this is really dreamy ambient soundscape stuff at its best

NYC was a rather miserable experience for myself (Mat) ….i got sick as hell days before our showcase …brandon had some massive allergic issue when we stepped off the plane which inadvertently led to us getting cab hustled and paying $170ish for a cab ride to Brooklyn by a guy who looked like he could kill us and dump us somewhere if such fees weren’t paid ….long story short, NYC is hungry and BIG, and there is a lot of bad stuff that goes along with that (as well as good things)

at any rate before the Stereogum showcase where we saw HOUSES we killed time at a Starbucks and struck up random conversation with some guy from Chicago… he ended up being one of the nicest/likable guys we met while at CMJ ….ironically he was flying in for the night to see HOUSES because his good friend was the singer ….on his advice we checked them out, and i was glad we did
